Dish SwiM Problem
I recently posted a problem with 103 even transponders, and it was recommended I replace the SWM 8. I purchased a DTV AHKAKUKIT (I live in Hawaii) so I could replace both the lnb and SWM. I ran the coax from the new lnb directly to the old power inserter which was probably a big mistake. I had no signal and after a few minutes I realized the power inserter said SWM 8/16 only. I moved the cable directly to my receiver, an HR20-700, and I still have zero signal on all satellites. Using my Satlook meter, I foundn a decent signal on 101W from the dish all the way to the receiver, but the receiver doesn't see anything. When In push the dash on the remote, it says SWiM connected.
Am I missing something? Thanks for the help.

Doesn't matter which power inserter you use both the 21v or 29v work. Did you connect the "To SWM" to the dish coax then the "To IRD" to the HR20?

HR20 is SWM compatible. It also supports Multi Room Viewing (MRV), DirecTV's brand being Whole Home DVR. But being so old perhaps it is having some issues of its own.

All SWM LNBs needs a power inserter.

I did, but now I'm thinking the AHKAKU doesn't require a power inserter, and goes straight to the receiver. It has also occurred to me that the HR20-700, being 15 years old, may not be compatable with the new lnb SWM combination.
