DVR Identity issues

I have a defect tv dvr HR44,  It gets an IP address from my router but will not do a speed test. I have changed DNS settings to open DNS and google DNS, and back to my providers DNS and still no speed check.  Also I have to find the DVR each and every time I log into the Derect TV app on my IPAD.  Any ideas on what I can do to resolve these issues?

Recently there was a software bug that was causing the built-in speed test to not show the correct results. Unsure if they have released a software update for that yet. What is the software version of your HR44?

Yes it worked about 4 months ago, it is connected by wired Ethernet
