DVR recording in multiple segments

I'm recording the KC @ Philly game tonight. I start watching it an hour or so in (over whole home) and 52 minutes in, it freezes and asks if I want to delete it. I select NO and hit the menu button and see it's started recording again, so I start watching that one (from the point the last recording stopped). It shows a 52 min. partial recording, and the new one. Later, it happens again. This time it's 1 hr 44 min. So far, the 3rd one is 27 min and still recording.

What's up??

This can happen if the satellite signal is weak or gets interrupted.  Have you had any other reception-related issues (e.g. Error 771 Searching for Satellite)?  What model DVR is this?   Do you have other DVRs/Receivers?  Do they also have this issue?

Thanks for responding.

I recorded the 1st preseason Red Wings game on the other tuner (same machine) at the same time and it recorded fine. The signal strengths on sat 103(a) and (b) are mid 80s to mid 90s. Its an HR24. My other is an HR22 and has had no problems. No 771s on either. I'm wondering if the NFL channel had problems of some sort.

Thanks again.

That's quite possible.  Or "glitches" in DirecTV's feed of that channel can also cause this sort of problem.  Hopefully it's an isolated issue.
