Find out how to return your DIRECTV equipment

Each return is different, but here's a general list of what you should send back and what you can keep. We'll also send you an email or a letter by US Mail letting you know what equipment to return.

Shipping your return equipment

If we direct you to FedEx or UPS

It's fast and easy and no packing is necessary. Just bring your unboxed equipment and 9-digit account number to a company-owned FedEx Office Pack and Ship or The UPS Store.

  • FedEx Office® Pack and Ship or The UPS Store® will send your equipment back to us at no charge to you.
  • You'll get a receipt that confirms your return, and we'll know that your equipment is on its way.
  • Keep your return receipt or tracking number. If you already dropped off the equipment at FedEx or UPS and don’t have a reference number, return to the location and ask for your copy.

If we send you a return kit

  1. Pack up the equipment you're sending back to us.
  2. Attach the prepaid shipping label to the return kit.
  3. Give the kit to your mail carrier or drop off at a post office.

If a prepaid label is included in your replacement box

  1. Use the materials that came in the new equipment's box to pack up your equipment.
  2. Tear off the bottom receipt tab on the prepaid shipping label.
  3. Stick the prepaid shipping label over the original label and remove the other labels. Without this return label, it won’t be returned to us.
  4. Take it to a post office or FedEx.

Helpful tips about fees

  • To avoid an Equipment Non-return Fee, return your undamaged equipment within 21 days of the service change or disconnect date.
  • Didn’t get your return box or other concerns? Contact us.

My question as well. The wireless video bridge (WVB) has been an owned accessory. Is this a change or a mistake?

Wireless Video Bridges are owned equipment, are not recoverable, and do not incur NRFs except for:

  • Wireless Video Bridges that are replaced via the Equipment Replacement Program (ERP), need to be returned following standard return process
