Genie 2 location

Can the Genie 2 tower be put in a room without a TV, or does it have to be in the same room as a TV? For aesthetics, I would love to stash that ugly tower away in an upstairs bedroom that does not have a TV in it, and then have only the genie minis in the actual rooms with the TVs. Any problem with doing that?

Thanks!

The HS17 Genie2 has no video output to connect to a TV so it can be placed anywhere.

That little Genie-2 (HS17) tower can be put anywhere you are comfortable having the coax run from the dish to it, as long as it is within 100 feet. Unlike a traditional receiver, this does not go on a TV as it is a Headless Server.

Keep in mind if you have any wireless Mini Genies, the range to the Genie-2 via the Wireless Video Bridge (WVB) that is built in is up to 80 feet under ideal conditions.

So you can put the Genie-2 wherever it works for you aesthetically, just like an internet router (as it looks like one), hiding the technology you find ugly.

Thank you to both of you for those responses. Much appreciated!
