Genie receivers

I replaced a Genie that was malfunctioning. The new Genie does not have RCA audio ports in back. Are there Genie receivers

still available with RCA audio out ports?

The HR44 is the last receiver made with built in RCA ports, the newer HR54 needs the composite 10 pin din cable to get the RCA output.

The new boxes can still connect to outdated TVs. They just need the cable that is 10-pin dongle on one side with the colored plugs on the other side. The port on the Genie (receiver) or Mini Genie (Client) will say A/V.

However if your TV has any HDMI ports, best to use those. MPEG-2/SD-only is in the process of shutting down, and trying to downgrade HD video to an SD signal doesn't always look very good. If your TV has HDMI, or when you replace it with one that does, you will need to update a couple video settings on the DirecTV box to match when ready.
