Genie2 Tower and bluetooth

I recently switched to Directv and found on the hope page, undersettings, an option to add a bluetooth device.  The remote control was listed but I want to add a headphone.  I have tried four different devices that I currently use with my cell phones and tablets but they will not pair with the Genie. Is there a particlar headphone or headphone type that is needed?

I named devices (Genie2 Tower) but I am not sure what the device names are. Genie mini, Genie HD DVR, Wireless bridge. My setup has a main box and wireless recievers :)

AFAIK only the C71KW mini uses a Bluetooth remote but that doesn't mean it also sends out audio, the only way to use Bluetooth headphones is to connect a Bluetooth transmitter to it so it only sends DTV programs to the headphones or to the TV so that all TV inputs are sent to the headphones

Most likely you have the Genie-2 which is model HS17. It is a Headless Server tower that does not connect to a TV itself.

Genie is a more traditional HDDVR design, so goes on a TV. It has 3 generations; HR34, HR44, HR54 (and revised HR54R1).

The wireless boxes are Mini Genies, which are Clients not receivers. Differences is that they cannot receive the service themselves (no tuners) and instead are an extension (Client) of whatever your main Genie is. They would either be C41W or C61W (the 'W' designating wireless).

There is also the Genie Lite, model H44. Effectively an HR44 without DVR from the start, but can upgrade to DVR with a kit.

The C71KW is the Gemini. Started as a DIRECTV STREAM box, but is starting to be available as a Client for a Genie on the satellite service. This is the first box to have any kind of Bluetooth connectivity built-in.

Thanks much!! I did try at least four different head sets/headphones and selecting devices-remotes, from the home screen, did indicate that it was trying to pair. I was encouraged by that :)  Thanks again!
