Going wired instead of wireless, genie.
I have moved my tv and genie main receiver and am now close enough to use ethernet connection instead of wireless. Do I have to or should I also use an ethernet connection for the video bridge. If it's just I should please give pros and cons. I would rather save that output on my router for a gaming console.
Thanks in advance

The Ethernet connection on the wireless video bridge (WVB) is not currently used by the consumer. So the WVB only connects to the system by coax, or wirelessly to the Mini Genie Clients (clients are NOT receivers) models C41W or C61W.
The WVB is only for connecting the wireless Clients to the main Genie, nothing else.
The only box that will connect to your home internet will be the Genie itself. Any older HDDVRs will share the connection of the main box so they should not be directly connected or cause issues. Mentioning just in case.

DTV doesn't use Ethernet, you have to have a coax to wire the receiver. If you mean connecting to the internet then yes that is all you need. The WVB can only be connected by coax.

I have spent the day running coax through the garage and up through the floor for the satellite connection. I was referring to the internet connection. I have hooked the main receiver up to ethernet. My video bridge also has an ethernet input, is this redundant? As I was referring to ethernet I assumed that it would be understood I was talking internet. I will be sure to be more detailed in the future.

First of all, thanks to @shannon02 for the response.
Please let us know the reason why you want to connect the wireless receivers via ethernet, so we can check our options and provide you the right information.
We'll be waiting for your reply.

I am trying to hook a few things up directly to my router for internet connection. I am trying to get my reciever the best internet connection possible, so I have gone wired as opposed to wireless. As of now I have run ethernet to my main receiver. My WVB also has an ethernet port. I was asking if I should plug both in or if just plugging in the main receiver is sufficient.

Do not plug anything into the Ethernet of the WVB. The Genie should be the only DirecTV connection to your router. Good keeping it wired for best reliability. Though the Genie does have a wireless option (supports both 2.4GHz and 5GHz) if ever needed. Unless you have the original Genie (HR34) as doesn't have the wireless option built-in (and should be replaced as it couldn't keep up with what it was for).
