HD receiver options

I was wondering if anyone might know what my options could be for getting directv with and HD dish. I presently live in a condo complex that does not allow bolting any satellite dishes to any exterior walls or for us to put one on my roof. I have a porch with an unobstructed view at the southeastern sky, but have fairly flimsy railings ( I may also not be allowed to put a dish on the railings regardless, I'm not sure).  Two years ago I ordered directv, but the installer came out and  said that because of his inability to bolt an HD dish down in some manner, he could not install the service. I did not attempt to get a second opinion at the time, but was really hoping to get directv for the upcoming football season if at all possible. Are there potentially any types of stands/mounts that I could use to place on my porch that might allow me to get the service? Thanks in advance.

Suggest you order the service-you may have better luck this time-unless-the installer may have not have had a correct mount for your app -so you should have gotten a second  opinion . The only reason for a non install is NO LINE OF SIGHT -. The only way to know is to order the service and keep pressing for install.

You also try a local Sat installer in your area as well.

Sounds like you might be a candidate for a non-penetrating mount, which is a steel frame weighted down by cinder blocks.  Its an approved DIRECTV installation method.

Here's a photo of one another user posted of his installation.  There are normally more cinder blocks used.

I should have said mount, not reciever. I checked out the solidsignal site and found this page with a couple of mounts that look like the one in the photo

How would I determine which one would be a good fit for an HD dish?

Do a search there for "non penetrating roof mount" and you'll find several suitable choices.  You just want to be sure you get a 2" diameter mast mount version.

Here's one example.  The mast must be 2" diameter as previously posted.
