Help after power outage

Our second tv is connected to directives through a vcr. We had a 28 hr power outage. Now all we get is a blue screen with a few options on it. But have no idea what to do.

Sounds like your VCR or TV are no longer set to the correct Video INPUT for your DirecTV box.  Check those settings. 

 

What DirecTV DVR/Receiver model number do you have?

How exactly is it connected to your VCR?  TV?

Neither one of us is tech smart. We have the newest upgrade receiver and the small secondary box which is hooked up by vcr. Are you asking for a model number from the smaller box? And how it is hooked up? Not sure I know how.

Neither one of us are tech smart. This is my husbands tv. We got the model number we think this is it...c61500. As far as how it is connected? Huh? I’m sorry to be so stupid.

The C61 is Genie Mini Client box. I'm not sure how you could actually connect that box through your VCR. Take a look at the cables on the back of the C61, VCR and TV and tell me how they're connected. Also check your VCR and TV Owners Manuals to verify the Video INPUTs are set correctly.  Maybe ask a local "tech savvy" friend or neighbor for some help.

Use your TV remote (not DirecTV remote) and cycle through the inputs/options on the Blue screen there should be an input or source button on the tv remote. It would be very helpful if we knew what type of cables are connected from the receiver to the TV or vcr to tv from the receiver (a/v , HDMI)
