Hooking up new direct tv gemini box to h44 direct tv receiver and stereo receiver

I have ordered the new Dirct Tv Gemini box which will connect to my wired satellite Direct tv H44/500 receiver.  I want to run the audio through my stereo receiver.   Is this done by connecting an HDMI cable from the H44 to the stereo and then anothesHDMI from the stereo to the tv?  If not, how do I do this?

A question to gregeusa,

I may get a new AV receiver and wondered which Denon you have that works fo 4k?  Denon just came out with an 8k receiver 900h but that seems overkill for me.  Thanks

Seems kind of silly to replace an HR44/54 with a mini on the TV that use to be connected to it.

@Good4u So do you need a net switch if you are using the Ethernet port for the internet connection to connect the Gemini?

I bought a Denon X3800H on sale, does 4K and will run an 11.2 system, which means lots of amps so if you run a 2nd zone, you can still have a 9.2 in your main room (I have an HDMI extender to run to the outside patio high def)

That might be more than you need, but it will be fine for me of 7-10 years and worth the investment, got on sale for about $1100 and it does 8K, which is unneeded, but the HDR and Dolby atmos is up there.

I run all video and audio through it and am very pleased. It's also easy to use with universal remotes, I have a SofaBaton which controls everything, running the Gemini in IR mode, but since the SofaBaton works by Wi-Fi to a hub in the house, the remote works outside in the back yard.

It's a good workaround since the Gemini HATES IR mode in the remote.. it is forever bugging you to pair with bluetooth, and of course you cannot pair other remotes with the Gemini.

Happy with the setup.

@shannon02 Good question. I would think that would work. In some situations putting in a broadband deca might be a better option.
