How can I get my outside wiring redone? I can't seem to get the CSR to understand what I am needing or wanting to do.

Will Directv techs replace outside wiring?  Is that part of a service call that I can pay for?  The way my house is set up I have wiring entering the house on 3 different sides of the house to get to tv's and then of course returning back to the dish and splitter.  I;m getting new siding soon and could like to get this all taken care of.  I suppose I could upgrade to wireless receivers and that would eliminate 2 points of entry but I'd rather not get tied down with a new 2 yr agreement. Is it possible to get wiring ran again?  It;s hard  when you can't speak directly to technicians when you are placing the service call. Of course moving the dish closer to the main entry point would be beneficial too since it's at the peak of my roof.

You own the coax to do what you want with it.  DTV will install a new dish where it can be serviced as they are no longer allowed to get on the roof.

So I can get my dish moved, but what does that do for my existing wiring?  I see a relocate costs $49.  I'm ok paying that, but would that include them rewiring?

You have to do it yourself or hire someone to change/move the coax.  DTV will not touch the old dish either as you own it also.

who would i call to move the coax? I dont know who signed off on this original install but they should be ashamed.  In their defense, there probably wasn't a better way to install.  This house is on a slab so no basement to run it through. I just hate wires down 3 sides of my roof and 3 holes in my walls.  And of course if it snows I can't clear my dish off.  That's where it would be nice to move the dish to the side of the house, but if the tech won't touch the existing coax how would I get the tv's up and running??

Hello @wellsjo , We would be happy to assist.

As @shannon02 mentioned, We are able to send a technician for a dish relocation but we will not move the existing wiring or dish that is owned by the customer.

We hope this information helps.

I;m willing to remove existing wiring myself.  What I want to know is if I have the dish moved will the tech run NEW wire into the house in a better fashion than I currently have?

@wellsjo, Thanks for the clarification.

Typically technicians will use the wiring that is already there, It depends on the situation if new wiring is required.

We hope this helps.

@wellsjo

When your dish is relocated -The Wire from the dish will be relocated to where it enters the house NOW --unless the dish is moved to another side of the house.

When the tech shows you can discuss what you want and make an offer $$$$ for any additional wiring you wish done at the time.

thanks for all the info.  It doesnt make a lot of sense for me to pay to have the dish moved if the outside wire will be worse than it currently is. There's no way the existing wire will reach where I'd like to move my dish
