How does both sound and menu function in the remote?

Does anyone know the secret to programming a new Genie so BOTH sound and menus will function?

That's the wrong remote for an H25. You want to use an RC65 or RC66 remote with that box. The RC73 is for the newer Genie boxes.

Not sure what you mean. What DVR/Receiver model number? What remote model number? What audio/video device(s) are you hoping to control?

Wow!  Am I technically challenged?  YUP!  I'm trying to get DirecTV to work on my old Samsung tv like it did before my remote went south!!  Remote control is model RC73 from AT&T.  Receiver is the DirecTV box attached to my tv.  That's all I know!  I guess I'm asking too much to get it to work!!  Thanks for trying to help 😂

OK. Remote model is RC73. That's the newest model. What is your DVR/Receiver model number? It's on a label near the access card, or rear/bottom panel.

What exactly happens when you follow the Remote Setup in the DVR/Receiver's Setup Menu? What exactly isn't working with your Samsung TV? Need more details to really provide much help.

Receiver is H25.

What happens?  Nothing! 

Depending on which set of instructions I'm trying, instructions say "press mute and sect (or enter) together.  Wait for two green lights and release.  Screen will say (instructions).  Mine says nothing!  In all test cases.  I can never reach the reset remote section.  If I skip down to the "code" section, I can get either menu OR sound to work BUT if one works, the other is shut down.

I hope you can understand my version.  I know it's technically gobble-de-(Edited per community guidelines)!!!😜

Have you tried using this remote on another receiver?

I'll ask management if there are any other receivers in our complex.

They're very short-handed right now since nobody wants to take the jobs they need to fill so they will probably say they have no time to check!🙄

Perhaps, do you have a neighbor that would let you pair your remote with one of their devices?

By making this we can check if this is related specifically to your receiver or the remote

I checked with my next door neighbor yesterday and he has the same problem I have.  I'll try to find another with different model #'s.  This will take a while!

The "solution" is to use the correct remote for theH25 Receiver. That;s an RC65 or RC66, not the RC73.
