How is Direct TV around when it is such a corrupt company?

There is only one word to describe this company: disgusting.

We were messed around with not once but FIVE TIMES.

We have 9 TVs in our home. It’s not a cheap, one bedroom set up. This is an advanced job, that a brand such as DIRECTV should be capable of handling. No. They are only equipped to house and set up cheap entertainment systems. They did the most ghetto job at installing our cable which then resulted in none of our televisions working. So now we have called DIRECTV four times and have a tempted to get four different technicians to our home. The first time at resolving this issue the man came over and said “oh fixing this kind of problem is not my job.” HOW IS HE EVEN EMPLOYED?!?!

We then went to the AT&T store in person, and spent two hours on the phone to set up a new appointment, we saw a ray of light at the end of the tunnel. It was then turned into total chaotic darkness as they did not show up to the appointment! When I ask them what’s going on they said oh we came over and nobody was home. Lies! They are LIARS. I set up another appointment to try to get someone out to our house and the same exact thing happened again TWICE. Yes, we had TWO other appointments set up and we called days in advance to confirm and we were ghosted. How is this acceptable for a national brand?! Clearly a job to set up a proper entertainment system is too much for this national brand to handle.

I hope that DIRECTV has a slow and miserable death and that streaming will be king. The way that they treated us during this entire experience was basically suicide toward a loyal customer arrangement with them. They are making the path easier for people to switch over to streaming with their uneducated and unreliable service. None of their technicians are trained, they don’t have proper equipment, and they are flat out liars and cheaters. Now, it is Thanksgiving week and we have no television to watch while we are with our family. Really quite a sabotage on an American tradition.

If the concept of The Purge was real, I would use that right to slain every single one of the direct TV people who have left my mother distraught over this. Honestly that would be the only fair trade off to the hours and hours and days and days and weeks of weeks of misery brought on to us by the pathetic dying excuse of a corporation. I will be getting my money back and I will be switching to Hulu and never want to be associated with these frauds who have charged us $470+ bills and NO working service. Good riddance to these criminals.

Call DirecTV and when you get the voice system say "cancel". A retention agent will assist resolving the situation or getting your cancellation going. Historically DirecTV does not do refunds because of poor satisfaction, but should adjust any legitimate billing errors.

A side note, if for any reason you stay longer. The new account system AT&T has setup for DirecTV for some reason has a limit of 8 devices. So that is a max of 8 TVs (7 if you have the Genie-2 as the server tower counts as one of the 8). Mentioning just in case as you said you have 9 TVs. If you are in the new system and managed a workaround, then great. It is unknown if the limit by design or just a limitation for a while. This restriction, temporary or not, is an issue.

So call DirecTV. This is a public forum of customers so we have no access to your account.
