HS-17 and wireless mini's

I am getting wireless service ( maybe ) next week.  AT&T Tech Support is telling me the 3 wireless mini's can be no closer than 4 feet from the HS-17 AND no further than 8 feet.  Is either of those distances true ? ? ? ? ?  I really thought I could have the HS-17 placed within 1-2 feet of my inhome router, and one wireless mini 1-2 feet from that, and have another wireless mini in the front bedroom ( 20 feet ) and the master bedroom ( 25 feet ) away.  If all the wireless mini's are "required" to be no more than 8 feet from the HS-17.......why in the world would anyone want this system??????

Sure wasn't an answer to my questions.  In my mind, at this point I'll be fine if I cancel the wireless and stick to wired.  Am I to be fine if AT&T's online material show wireless mini's to be no more than 8 feet from the HS-17 and you just say "You will be fine"?  Gee....thanks.

The Installer Will find out if wireless will work or not ---SO if you allow the install to happen --it wireless will work -you will be fine if NOT he will have to hard wire them --either way you will be fine.

The HS17 has the WVB built in and it has an 80' free air range but additional WVB can be added with coax with an additional cost of $99 per unit.  The 4' may be true.

The WVB, be it the external for regular Genies or the built-in one of the Genie-2 (HS17) is up to 80 feet (not 8 feet) under ideal conditions. As for minimum, 4 to 6 sounds reasonable so they are not stacking wireless signals on to of each other, but unsure of a hard number on that side.

THANK YOU Juniper and Shannon02.  So, AT&T's own documentation is wrong or misprinted showing 8 feet instead of 80 feet.  Oh my gosh.....and their own people don't know that fact and are simply passing on mis-information.  What a shame.....truly.  BTW, thanks for answering my question as now I feel comfortable with this install.

THAT is the solution ( since there is NO accept as solution button.
