I have Dish TV that I am considering dropping. Will Direct TV work with the same dish?

Nope, DTV needs a SWM slimline dish.

Dish Network and DirecTV are quite similar. However as there can be small differences that are key for some people, what are your exact concerns?

Apologizes, per distraction I misread that as "work the same as dish".

No a DirecTV dish would need to be installed. Their equipment is not interchangeable.

Yes, DIRECTV has a different sized satellite antenna and the LNB looks at different satellite locations as well. Anyway, can't a DIRECTV technician come out and do it for you? That's why I am a little confused.

OP was asking if their existing receiving Dish (from Dish Network) would work with DirecTV service. Probably wanted to avoid having a new dish installed in the home to minimize any wear and tear on the place.

But they got the response 2 weeks ago from others that the dish is not compatible between Dish Network and DirecTV.
