LG turning off on its own - resetting slave unit seems to solve issue after a couple tries

I have an older LG tv, connected to the slave unit or Genie or whatever it's called.

I turn the TV on, and it waits a few moments before powering off.  Batteries in remote are fresh.

Resetting the slave unit solved the issue the first couple times this occurred.  Now it is taking multiple resets and/or plugging into different HDMI on the back of the TV.  Also noticed that plugging into HDMI-2 resulted in a "dimmer" screen.

I'm wondering if this is just the TV going out, or if there's an issue with the slave unit.

HELP!  This is my main TV and without sounding too desperate... I absolutely need it to function.

Try a different HDMI cable with all the different ports on the TV. If no success is reached, the TV main board is messed up and you need a new TV. However, if you are tech savvy or willing to take advantage of YouTube videos to solve the issue, you can purchase a new main board and replace the old one. This should probably fix the issue.

That would be a Mini Genie which is a Client ("slave") of the main Genie.

Verify HDMI cord is secure and free of debris on both ends.

Try different HDMI cable and port on TV if available.

Make sure any HDMI-CEC options are turned off.

Verify neither is plugged into a "smart" power strip.

But with one port having TV eventually power off and another resulting in a dimmer screen suggest the TV itself is the issue. If the above suggestions don't fix it, you are probably looking at replacing the TV set.
