Local channels freezing/skipping
I have read a couple of threads of people experiencing the same local channel issue with freezing skipping channels. I leave is south west Oklahoma and for about a week now my local channels are freezing and skipping. This leads me to believe that DirectTV has some sort of underlining issue with the transmission of these channels since it is effecting customers all over the states. If anyone has info that can help me, do share.

Yes, others have reported it, too. Supposedly DirecTV is aware of the situation and working with the local stations on a fix. Don't know when, though.

To the last two posters - yours is a different problem, usually caused by poor signal strength. Start your own posts and then we can look at byour issues and try to help.

I am guessing that Directv is putting these small market stations on transponders that are problematic knowing that loss of subscribers will be fewer. Two weeks to figure out the problem in this day and age is an eternity. Probably won't be resolved until they send up a new satellite next decade.

My issue was fixed by a service call. My issue was NOT local channels. The technician did say that there could be issues with local channels for the next 2 weeks. He said Direct tv is adjusting one or more satellites to find the right position so there is no more interference. Hope this helps.

I live in Wichita Falls TX and just switched to Direct TV from Dish. My Son and Inlaws have dish and do not have a problem with the local channels (or any other ones). Several of our friends have Direct and have freeze problems with the local channels. The odd part is only the tv's with recorders have a problem, the tv's with just a regular box are fine. Several calls and still no resolution. I need to go back to DISH.
