Local Stations outage Atlanta

My local stations are out with the standard "We know this is a problem and don't call us message is on screen," Anyone else have any idea how long this usually lasts?

that means that DirecTV is aware of the problem and is trying to fix it.  this usually last no more than a few hours.

Mine is out, not thrilled, I hope its back on in time for my DVR to record REVENGE or I may flip.... 😉

mines been out since getting home around 6:30p, not happy either. I guess we will receie bill credit for this time. I can't imagine itt takes this long to isolate the problem, not good. it'd now 9:38p; zip 30039

You'll need to call DirecTV if you hope to get any sort of credit.  It won't happen automatically.

I called Directtv tech support and was told the problem on two local channels was not a DirectTV problem but due to the channels themselves.  Personally I believe this to be misleading at best.  Neither station showed any outage information on their websites.  They were two diverse stations with two separate physical location and two different major networks.  I'm betting the problem was with DirectTV's local station feed infrastructure.

 

I've gotta tell you, I would rather that I get an accurate problem description rather than what seemed to be designed to soothe the customer.

Hard to know.  It might be that those two stations share a common rebroadcast/uplink center with DirecTV.  In situations like this is often best to actually contact the local station(s) yourself.  Ask for their "engineering manager".   Usually these sorts of outages are correctly quickly.
