Loose reception after watching for an hour
Loose reception after watching for an hour, get snowy screen and have to turn off receiver and back on again to get reception back. This happens on just one of my receivers (HR24-500). I have reset with red button but still happens.

"Snowy screen" would suggest that your TV is switching away from the DirecTV video source, or losing its signal. How is the DirecTV box connected to your TV?

Does sound like something is causing the input to change from where DirecTV is plugged to the antenna input (per the snowy screen). Since a red button reset return it back, I suspect something is interfering with features to auto change input based on active signal from the HDMI connection.
Check that the HDMI cord is secure on both ends.
Turn HDMI-CEC off if your TV has it.
Check for software/firmware updates on TV
Don't use a 'smart' power strip.
Try a different HDMI cord, port on TV, if available.
Unplug power from TV for a couple minutes. (change input after to correct one)
If after all that it is still happening, try switching your HR24 with another box you have. Problem staying with box or TV should narrow down which side is the cause.
