Lose HD channels then receiver dies

I have three H21-200's and one HR23-700. My HR23 works just fine other than occasional remote lag, but about two months ago the first of my H21's lost HD channels. I tried resetting it, this caused it to just continuously loop through the start up. A few days later the second one did it, tried to restart it, same result. Finally at the end of last month the last one did it, so I didn't reset it. There are no trees in front of the dish and there wasn't a storm that caused the damage. When I called Directv at first they told me that what was going on was impossible, but after conceding it was happening, they said it was because I must constantly move my receivers. I have never moved them.

very unlikely but not impossible for 3 receivers to die the same way within a short period of time.  is your dish properly bonded to your house common ground?

To the best of my knowledge it is. Well I can assure you that nothing has changed since before this started until now. We did not have any power outages or surges, nothing has changed in my wiring, my receivers are not in a place where they would get hot or moisture would be an issue. I know it's unlikely but I didn't know if this was one of those receivers that has issues. Directv said that they would have to send somebody out to do all of the things that we did over the phone, I just want to swap out the paperweights for ones that work. It still doesn't explain why my HDDVR works just fine.

I'm not aware of any "systemic" issues with the H21-200 Receivers.

There are virtually no reports of problems with the H21-200. The symptoms you report are those you get when the receiver loses signal - the reason you get into a startup loop is because there is no signal from the 101 satellite which is needed to complete startup.

What are the signal strengths on 101 on the DVR? Have you tried connecting one of the H21s in the location where your working DVR is now?

Have you got a cat that loves wires?  Look at the location of your splitter and see if there is some reason all of these boxes are losing signal?

Please post back with your signal readings for each satellite's transponders (and both tuners if applicable).  You'll find these readings under "Menu" -> "Setup" -> "System Setup" -> Satellite -> "View Signal Strength".  Note the "+" and "-" symbols next to the "Satellite" and "Tuner" entries where you can toggle the readings between the various satellites and both DVR tuners.

Fill in your readings for each satellite and tuner using these examples.  A properly aligned dish will show 80-90s on most of the relevant transponders (although some will be low or zero):
