Misleading Whole Home DVR

Access over 6,000 FREE Video-on-Demand shows and movies from every receiver in your Whole-Home network when you are connected to the Internet via the Cinema Connection Kit. You can also search for and watch YouTube videos, share shows on Facebook and twitter, and more. All at no extra charge.

That's what it states on directv website, i have HD-DVR and two HD receivers connected via whole home dvr and i can only access YouTube or free on-demand shows only from HD-DVR.

Can anyone please explain what above statement from directv meant.

          Thank You.

You need to Download any one or all of 6000 shows to your HDDVR first. Then you can do what is stated below.

Any show you can download (or) record on your HDDVR  (since it has a hard drive) can be viewed and played on any receiver (HD) in your home.

Whole Home DVR actually has nothing to do with the "thousands of free shows & movies".  That's the CinemaPlus OnDemand stuff.

Some folks just don't do their homework ....

Guys above statement states " Every Receiver" what should i assume ??? any receiver connected to Whole -Home network right. Technically i know you need a HD-DVR to download on-demand shows, but its confusing when you see such a statement like everyreceiver.

Come on ....

At the very top of that web page it says .....

Get over 6,000 shows and movies on Demand at no extra charge!
Expand your viewing options exponentially. With an HD DVR connected to the Internet, you unlock the door to over 6,000 on Demand shows and movies at no extra charge1.

That's HD-DVR, not RECEIVER.

Since day one the multi-room dvr now so called whole-home dvr, never been properly understood by any of the directv customers. Never been properly told by Reps and  the information on the website was gullible. Firstly it said you can watch shows from two different rooms, well everyone assumes two rooms not counting the one with HD-DVR, later clarified as one remote viewing only. They have very easy answer, get another HD-DVR it solves the problem wow who is paying extra $200 for that when you are already paying $250 for whole home -DVR.

Secondly, they show one HD-DVR with arrows connecting all the rooms , it means you can control the HD-DVR from any room  wows thats great. So as directv customer and many others assume you can watch on-demand,youtube and so from any receiver since we are in whole home network. I know Mr.dcd you need hard drive to download shows, i belived  the HD-DVR  in whole home network will solve that issue what wrong with that.

Directv you need to be very clear what you state please.

don't know what you want to get out of this.  but the TKG's and myself that post regularly here, we work with how the system is.  there is no point to debate how the system should be.  is up to you if you want to get another HDDVR or not.  only you know how much connivence is worth to you.  if I want to have a pizza deliver, I have to tip the driver.  or I could just drive there and save the tip money.

Based on what evidence?   Personally I think the vast majority of WHDVR customers, myself included, fully understand how it works and are very satisfied.  And if you're not, then there are certainly other alternatives available to you.

Some folks are upset because they built a list of expectations based on their intuition and are now disappointed that reality doesn't match the dream.  Happens in all walks of life, including Whole Home DVR.  You'll notice that no amount of nice conversation will mollify these folks, so I'm not sure why we even bother.
