Need help troubleshooting WHDVR setup
Hello,
I have the Whole Home DVR service, and my DVR indicates that. However, it also indicate "no networked DVRs found." I have wireless internet service, but my DVR is not connected. Does it have to be connected to the internet to function as a whole house DVR?
Thanks,
Jay

No internet connection is required.

Installed professionally last week.
1 HR-24 & 3 H24s
They don't appear to be network at all. There is a coax, power cord and HDMI cable plugged into the back of the DVR. The installer did ask if I had wireless internet...that's why I ask.
The DVR works fine, but the Whole Home feature has never worked.
I have not reset anything.

Hello,
and my DVR indicates that. However, it also indicate "no networked DVRs found."
this message "no network DVR's found" is normal in a system that has 1 HDDVR, and the user is querying the status from the HDDVR. the DVR can only look for other "servers" and cannot look itself. but if you did the same at the HD receivers, they should be able to list the HDDVR.
what happens when you press the LIST on the HD receivers?

When I check the status on the HD receivers, they say the same thing..."no networked DVRs found."
When I press LIST on the HD receivers it says "there are no events scheduled at this time." I cannot see a playlist on any of the HD receivers.

Was Whole Home DVR included with your order? Was it ever activated?

Yes, it was ordered and all the sets say it is activated. They are all run through a SWIM8 switch.
Actually, the IRD's say "authorized," not "activated." Do I need to have the service activated as well?

"authorized" is the right word. you have not connected any ethernet cable to any of the receivers, right?
First thing to try is resetting the DECA network....
Disconnect AC power from each DVR and Receiver
Disconnect power from the DECA Broadband Adapter (black DECA box)
Disconnect power from the SWM dish Power Inserter (do you know where yours is located)?
Reset your home network gateway/router
Wait a few minutes for the router to reset
Repower the SWM Power Inserter
Repower the DECA Broadband Adapter
Repower each DVR and Receiver

I don't see a DECA box anywhere. Would it be connected to the DVR?

I'm guessing I need one of those, so I'm also guessing it wasn't installed properly. No?

The DECA BB adapter would be located at your router, see pic attached. That should have been installed as an included part of the system. If you don't have it call Directv and ask that they return and complete your installation. If running a wire to your router is not possible there is a wireless adapter available but the coax is much preferred.
This will not correct your basic problem of no DVR's found, but the tech can address that issue as well.

Turns out, everything is built into the HR24s & H24s. Just had to reset them. Works like a charm now!
Thanks for all the help.

the 24 series receivers in deed have built in DECA circuitry. but you would still need the DECA pictured on post # 11 to connect your system to the internet. if this is not the case, I recommend that you call DTV so that they can return and finish the job. even tho this is not required for WHDVR, it adds some nice features to your system. and best of all, is free for new customers

Called in and mentioned the DECA box. I was told what I need is not a DECA box but a Cinema Connection kit. And it's not free...even to new customers. It's $31.99 w/s&h.
