Need to have my dish moved temporarily to have my deck replaced. The Direct TV dish is connected to the deck support pole.

I have a contractor who is replacing our back deck. This deck has our DirectTV dish attached to it. Before the contractor begins we need to have the Direct TV Dish moved temporarily until the new replacement deck is finished. Any recommendations on options available to me through Direct TV? Can the dish be placed on a temporary stand or pole? If it needs to be moved to the roof (note we have a walkout lower level is there a cost beyond the service call cost? How much notice does DirectTV need?

You own the dish, DTV will install a new dish with a dish relocate order for $49.99, I assume there is a limit on how often you can do it.

Just do not have the contractors try to put the dish or mounting back. Proper install and aimining of satellite equipment is not their expertise.

The dish can be put on a temporary tripod/sled mount. If you can aim yourself then I would do this first. Then when contractors are scheduled to be done, call DirecTV to schedul the relocation. I would set up the appointment early per tech shortages and you want an open window. You can always reschedule if the deck work goes a bit longer.
