new boxes from direct tv-only two weeks old-that are not connecting to the internet
two weeks ago, direct tv replaced our old boxes, because one of them was giving us problems. our new boxes had to be hooked up to our wireless network, even though the previous boxes were hooked up to a cable.
Now our direct tv internet connection is not working through direct tv. the problem is not the internet, it is the boxes. all the other items we have hooked into our internet are working fine, but the direct tv boxes are not.
I was told by a direct tv customer service rep, over the phone, that in order for direct tv to come to our house, again, and fix the problem,, we would have to pay for this.
i am wondering why, because since the problem is with the new boxes, why do we have to pay for those faulty boxes to be replaced?

What are the model numbers? DTV receivers and service calls come with a 90 day warranty so you shouldn't have to pay.

I did see that on the service agreement, after I talked to the DirectTV people, so I will have to mention that to them when i call, again. Do you want to know the model numbers because others have had the same kind of problems with a certain box?

No there isn't a common issue with internet and one particular model of box. Knowing the model of equipment is a basic starting point of troubleshooting for any device (not just DirecTV).
The models matter because not all models connect the same way. Some boxes directly connect or uses an external wireless CCK. Some boxes have CCK built-in which can use another wireless band. Newer setups require one box to serve the connection to the others, while old setups each connected individually.
