New Direct TV box that does not require internet service
I received a letter stating that my older boxes need to be replaced. I take these boxes to my summer cottage because we have no internet service just the satelite dish. What box does Direct have that I can upgrade to that does not require an internet connection?

None of them require an internet connection. But that's not the real issue here. If you are not careful, you will end up with a system that won't work at your summer cottage at all.
What boxes do you have now?

DirecTV is service by satellite. As such internet connected is not required and has never been required. So internet connection is optional.
What is happening is DirecTV is shutting down their MPEG-2/SD-only feeds. So any boxes that are only MPEG-2 are very outdated. They do have a swap program so people can get their system updated at no charge as is required to continue using the service, but that only covers the account address. So any updates at your cottage, such as the dish would be at your own cost. Though technically the summer cottage is supposed to have its own account and equipment as the address matters for allowed locals, what sport teams are in-market, and taxes you are required to pay.
What are the models of every box you have? Best to get guidance before placing any order to be safe.

As mentioned, there is not a single DirecTV box that requires internet. Correct that you cannot take Mini Genies since they are Clients, so cannot work without the main box. The main Genie (and even Clients with it) could be taken if your cottage setup was compatible, but not recommended when you have other receivers.
What are the models of your "older" boxes? That is what is needed to verify if you have any required changes or not.
