Depends on WHERE on the roof the dish is located --If it's in the middle of the roof (DO NOT LET THE ROOFER REINSTALL IT) as D*TV will NOT leave the Ladder anymore to install or realign the Dish.

If it located Near the EVE of the Roof (you can reach with the ladder) then Let him put it back.

Your best bet is to call 1-800-531-5000 and Request a DISH re-location During the roof replacement.

I concur, keep the dish near the edge. To comply with updated OSHA regulations, DirecTV techs may not leave the ladder so the dish must be reachable for it.

Before any agents try to offer or mention any other required updates, what are the models of each box you have and do you know what dish you've got? Just in case you need any other guidance if you end up with an overzealous agent.

No one can place the dish exactly where it was and you are aiming for a bus that is 23,000 miles away so even fractions of a degree matter.
