No 4k !!!!!!!!!!

Directv just installed my new Genie boxes for my 4k and it hasn't worked since they instslled it . Ive read some of the same  issues in here and ive done them all or checlrf them all so thanks to everyone on here but everytime I go to a 4k channel it says your  watching the highest resolution available 1080P.  2 techs couldn't figure it out and they told me at directv it because there refresh rate is 120 and my tv is 60 and I don't really know about that . Ive tried everything that I know and ive read on here but no luck . I sure was looking forward to watching football in 4k if anyone has any ideas I sure would like to hear them please .

What are the models of each of your boxes?

Which one is on the 4K TV itself?

Are you sure it is plugged into the 4K compliant port? (many TVs have only one or maybe to that is compatible with DirecTV's 4K).

"ARC" just means HDMI audio return channel and has nothing to do with 4K. Be sure that your 4K TV's HDMI1 input actually supports 4K. And you need an HDMI cable that supports 4K.

Not all HDMI inputs on a 4k tv are 4k, make sure you're actually connected to a 4k HDMI input and that the HDMI cable is 4k , also check if your 4k tv supports 60 fps and not just 30 fps (frames per second). A tech should have known to check all this

The tech put a new HDMI cable on the tv and the tv menu says its 60 fps and so does the manuel and it says its HDR but when I cut that on the screen is half gray and other half is static . Everything on the tv and the manuel says its 4k and 60fps and HDR but none of it works . Even says all that on the box . Its been one big headache .

Ok you still haven't said if the input is 4k  or that the HDMI cable is 4k (HDMI 2.0).

The cable just says high speed HDMI and as far as the tv being 2.0 when I look thru the manuel it says HDMI ARC . I cant find 2.0 nowhere .

What is the exact make and model of the TV?

Have you checked for any firmware/software updates for the TV set itself?

Yes I checked for any updates . The tv is a Vizio v655-G9 .

Looked up that TV and Vizio does not show, even in the manual, what version the HDMI ports are to get clarification. Being 4K doesn't guarantee if those are HDMI 2.0 ports which matters for DirecTV's connection.

Yea and that's a bunch of bull . You buy a 4k tv that wont work . I don't understand why the hdmi ports are not right why they would make it like that .

Check with Vizio support and verify if any of the ports are HDMI 2.0 and if so exactly which ones.

TV makes need to put the version number instead of just HDMI to avoid potential compatibility issues.
