No service since Friday due to 771 and no one will answer the phone nor can I get someone with chat

Error 771 has stopped all my receivers for 3 days. No one will answer the phone and the chat won't assign me a specialist either.

There are videos on youtube if you want to try to align the dish yourself otherwise you have to call/chat for a tech $99 covered if you have the protection plan.

COVID-19 is causing staffing shortages and higher call volume.

I had a 771 error today too. I’ve had plenty in the past that the help desk always walked me through when my equipment & satellite were fine.

The easiest fix is if heavy storms are in your area just wait them out & your signals should return automatically (you can still watch your DVR shows while waiting).

But if all else fails I’ll relay what I did (which I think is what the techs had me do all of those times before). I went into the Settings Menu then Satellite submenu then chose Repeat Satellite Setup. I had to press the dash key - to continue then I chose Reset Defaults before the going to chose continue on the same screen (I may have had to press dash again). But my signals returned with in minutes of the Setup completing.

I don’t know if you can follow any of the above or if you would choose to wait for an actual tech to walk you through it. Stay safe through the virus crisis in any event.

771 means that your Satellite needs to be adjusted... is it on a pole? Or the house? Honestly if the installation was done by a good text the dish should never have to be re-aimed if on the house... now a very very few other problems are because of connections being rusted out trees in the way.... water getting into the cable witch would rust the center conductor out ...

NEED HELP?
