Nomad for iPAD?

Ok, so I know that the iPhone app works on the iPad. I watch shows from both devices and the quality is just not the same. Is there and update when the iPad and Mac releases will be coming out? There seems to be no information that states it will be out in 6 days, or 6 years. Considering the amount this device cost, it should have been out by now. I have both a Mac and iPad that I no longer download to, as the quality is just not there as it is with the streaming iPad apps. Any update when this will be available?

I know. I told all my friends to stay away from Nomad and frankly DirecTv over this. They still have it as coming soon on the website.  Does not match any definition of soon that I am aware of.

Their definition of "everywhere" in the latest update to the iPad app streaming means only inside your home network were it can see your DVR is connected. They beat to the drum of their own dictionary.

I am however in love with their DVRs and whole home but they need to get some HD channels besides sports.

Morega Systems is the company that makes the app or nomad I'm not sure I was under the impression they were hired to make it but their website states they just provide the development kit so idk which is true.

Really?  Let us know how that works out for you.  Obviously it's taken longer than anyone expect, but class action suit???  Money mouth

Pretty sad giving us form responses telling us we hear you, but are doing nothing about it.  This device is basically useless to me without iPad support.  I knew this coming into the situation, but "assumed" that they would honor their commitment.  Shame on me for believing.

I started this thread in November, and it took them 5 months to respond.  Not sure how I feel about a company that does not monitor their technical forums for feedback.

And before someone comes in here complaining you can use the iPhone App on the iPad its not the same for snobs that realize that the iPhone and iPad run the same exact software. Almost like two windows computers with different monitors you can just click the maximize button. On the iPad it stretches the iPhone app and the shows look pixelated.and its letter and pillar boxed. The iPad app has to be less than a day worth of work just for the screen I'm completely lost 6 months really.

I'm a user like you, but I gave you an accurate response in #2, all the posts since then are basically complaints about which none of us can do anything.  I agree that the App should be out by now, but I also assume that Directv is having some issue with it or it would have been along sooner.  On the other hand maybe they've decided the Nomad is a flop and have decided not to put any more effort in the system.  I throw that in so as to stir the pot.  I'll not be responding to this thread any further.  If you have any technical issues if you start a fresh thread we can try to help you there.

@dcd:  I do appreciate your assistance and perspective.  Forums need folks like you. I understand that you do not work for Directv and you answer questions on this forum strictly because you like to assist. Thank you!

I certainly hope that your scenario of them halting development does not come true.  The Nomad site has not changed a bit since they launched. We'll just have to wait it out.

I'm pretty sure they have not halted development.   It's simply taking longer than they anticipated.

it's just like any other company. they come out with a new product and promise the moon, then after they sell a boat load of them, the promises fade away, and customers are left disappointed. this isn't a new concept for corporations. it seems to be more and more common these days.

I guess it is punishment to a customer service, or should I say non customer service for direct tv. Activation failure since Feb, 2012. I get past the load up and I get to you have 5 available licenses. I tap on activate this device and I get activation failure. Have been getting this since Feb 5th 2012. No solution. Ridiculous.
