Not Able To Delete a Recording

I have one recording which I am not able to delete. In front of the title it shows "[living room]". When I try to delete it I get the message "this program can only be deleted from the living room". This is the only recording of all I have listed that has[living room]in front of the title, why is this so ?? How can I delete it ??

In the first place, I never did record this 3 hr show, and in the second place.......I am in the living room. To me this is very strange indeed !!!

It means that this recording is saved on your Living Room DVR.  Or perhaps someone else's "Living Room" DVR. Are you in an apartment complex?

My Living room is where I am at. But I do live in a Condo. My neighbor is a big hockey fan, and this recording is of a Hockey Game. If this is the case this could be a night-mare waiting to happen. That sounds very unsecured and scary. Do you think If I called Direct tv support, would they be able to delete it for me off of my listings ??

Thanks litzdog911

No. But you need to talk to whoever is responsible for the installation in the condo. The recordings in each apartment are supposed to be separated from the others but whoever did the installation did not do this correctly.

Thanks "texasbrit", that sounds like the correct thing to do. That was beyond my imagination why I had someone else's recording on my DVR.......ha ha !!!

looks like your neighbor "saved" his hockey game, otherwise he will be posting here as to why his hockey game "mysteriously" disappear.  Laughing

your best course of action is to follow what texasbrit suggested.

I just looked at it closer, it appears there now are many more than just the hockey game. There are three of us that share the same dish (newly installed), makes me wonder if that is why. I can't wait til Monday to get a hold of the installers. I don't have much left of my mind to give away, but they are going to get a piece of it for sure........

The installer needs to use Band Stop Filters (BSFs) in the cables that go to each apartment to avoid sharing recordings across the DVRs. But I am concerned that the installer is inexperienced in installing in multiunits and may have made other errors, like not providing for enough tuner capacity.
