Ordering Another Receiver
Over a week ago I called the helpline about ordering an additional receiver. I don't want another mini genie but another HD DVR. It's for an outbuilding that has it's own antenna. It hasn't been used for while but I checked and it's still a functional SWM antenna. In the main house I've got a Genie and two mini genies plus an old HR22-100 (that's what I checked the outbuilding antenna with) that is used on another floor. Anyway the rep I talked to said they could put in a request for an HD DVR (it would be a refurb HR24-500) since Directv doesn't typically use those anymore. If it was approved I would get a notice that it had been shipped, otherwise someone would call me back and let me know it wasn't and why. I haven't seen or heard anything since. Any input on what I should do if anything?

AFAIK DTV has run out of refurbished HR24s as they haven't been made in years, the best thing would be to get another mini and take the HR22 out to the outbuilding or you may still be able to lease an HR24 at the full lease price from a third party online retailer like weaknees.com or solid signal.

Agent told a story to get you off the phone. You don't get a later call about a receiver order, or a callback for pratically any reason.
If an HDDVR was abled to be ordered, most likely it would be refurbished as they haven't been made in years (so unlikely a brand new one was still on the shelf). And HR24 was the last model made, with HR23s and earlier already gone for a few years.
To get an HR24, you would have to order one at the one-time least cost of $199 (or higher as stock dwindles but demand goes up) from a 3rd party authorized retailer (such as Solid Signal). You still get the 24-month service agreement upon activation.
Alternatively, move that HR22 to where you want the full HDDVR. Use a free upgrade to add a Mini Genie to the main setup. The Genie allows up to 3 Mini Genies in use at one time, so since you only have 2 you have some room to work with.
That new co-owner of DirecTV better come out with full HDDVRs again. Otherwise if they stick with the client-only setup that those previously in charge were doing, it does not bode well for those of of us who enjoy our freedom and flexibility of our equipment.

best solution is to move the Hr-22 to the outbuilding and use it as a stand alone
where the Hr-22 was removed -replace it with a mini --that will be the best solution
or run a rg6 to your outbuilding and (not using the dish) and your hr-22 would still be on your whole home network. Lay a rg6 out first to test
