Please Help - Certificate of Insurance & Occupational License Needed (HOA Requirement)

Hello,

My HOA requires that I provide them with a certificate of insurance and occupational license for the contractors that will install the DirecTv equipment.  They also want a drawing of where it will go on the home.

I have spent a combined total of 6 hours on the phone with DirecTV and have spoken to probably 10 people by now.  None of them provided any assistance with this and basically said "We are AT&T, we don't give those things out".  One supervisor I spoke with was helpful and said that Mastec Advanced does the installs in my area and to contact them.  I tried, but you cannot get through to them at all (literally, its not possible - you can only leave a message).

Can anyone help with this?  Otherwise I will have to cancel my order and install for DirecTV.

Best,
Jeff

OTARD prevents HOA/landlords causing unnecessary delays and excessive cost for installs.

Thanks!  I would love to go to war with the HOA frankly.  This process has been very frustrating, but I am a new renter and its probably not the best strategy right now.  Its equally frustrating that DirecTV has been zero help however.

DirecTV can't provide those documents only the hsp (home service provider) in this case, Mastec, can.

The documentation you need must be provided by the specific contractor/Home Service Provider (HSP), which sounds like Mastec for your area. So it must come directly from them as they are doing the work, even though DirecTV is your service provider.

Yes per OTARD, landords, HOAs and the like are regulated against forbidding or causing undue hassle for installing satellite service. But some still try as they bet on the homeowner caving from what they see as a weaker position. The rules, and very importantly the enforcement of such, needs to catch up for HOAs.

Thanks guys! Yes, I also agree that Mastec would have to provide those things. However, I have not found a way to get in touch with them. I left a message but have not heard back. There is no operator, just a recording. Thus far, DirecTV has not been able to facilitate communication either
