Program guide doesn't show all days.
I have 2 SD receivers. One in the living room and one in a bedroom. Today is Sunday, when i use the guide it goes all the way to Thursday at 2:30am however there's only programming for Sunday, Monday and up to 5pm on Tuesday. At 5pm on Tuesday it just says To Be Announced all the way from that time through Thursday.
I've tried refreshing, I've unplugged the reciever waited and pulled it back in. I've pressed the little red button and nothing seems to work.
Why allow the guide to go 4-5 days in advance when all I can see is 2 and a half days?
I like to program shows so they will autotune to the channel and I can't get past 2 and a half days.

All SD receivers except the R22 if there is a HD receiver present are now obsolete as DTV is shutting down the MPEG2 channels. You need to contact DTV to request their free HD receivers and dish swap offer.

Hi, I contacted them a couple months ago and asked about this free upgrade and they told me there was no free upgrade and were going to charge me for the equipment and I think for the installation.
I was told about a year ago to wait for an email about the free upgrade but I never received an email so I'm at a loss as to what to do.

It might come down to the exact wording used as swap and upgrade are two different things.
An optional upgrade might have a cost depending on your account status. Free or not it comes with a 24 month service agreement
What you need to request is their complimentary MPEG swap. This is no charge and no service agreement as is required to continue using the service.
To be sure, what are the exact models of each box you have?

Both are Model D12-100
I will call them later to see about swapping out instead of upgrading assuming the model I have are able to be swapped.

D12 is the very last MPEG-2 non-DVR made for DirecTV. So the free MPEG swap is definitely what you need. Should expect to get model H25 and a new receiving dish installed. No cost for order or new service agreement. However be aware you will see HD service ($10) on the bill, but as I understand that is supposed to be credited for so many months.
Most likely agent will offer an upgrade to a Genie with a Mini genie Client. If you do so, it will have the 24 month service agreement as that is an optional upgrade. In addition to HD, it will also come with DVR ($10) and Whole Home DVR ($3).
Whether you do swap or upgrade, check the order confirmation sent so you have all the info before the work is done.

So I called them today explained that I was looking to swap out the old with the new. I was told that they would give me the genie reciever and told me my bill would go up 23 bucks for service. I asked why? They said because the Geneis are HD DVRs and you have to pay for that service. I explained that my equipment is old and I thought there would be no added charge to swap them out. Said it wasn't my fault that they were shutting down a satellite and didn't understand why I had to pay more to keep my local channels. The gentleman on the phone explained that I would be getting added features with the Genie. Said its HD DVR, that it can share the playlist and be connected to the internet. I told him I have no use for DVR, sharing a playlist or connecting to the internet so I'm having to pay for features I don't use nor want. He didn't care. So I told him to forget it. I asked when they were going to completely phase out the receivers I have and he said by April of next year.

You and the CSR are confusing each other.
First, you should be asking for the MPEG2 swap program. This will replace your existing SD receiver with an HD receiver (not a DVR). They will also replace your existing dish if its not compatible with HD. This should all be free of charge.
The CSR is probably looking to use a DVR for this program because the non[-DVR receivers (H24 and H25) are in short supply. Although I am surprised you have no use for a DVR, that's your choice not theirs. Just call back and insist you are asking for the free MPEG2 swap program and that you don't want anything else.

That gentleman was wrong. Hopefully you'll get a more experienced rep when you call back.
Be polite and firm. You want the FREE SWAP, not any UPGRADES.

Genie is not a swap for the D12s, but an upgrade. A swap would get you HD non-DVR which is H25. The $10 HD service is credited for so much time (12 or 24 months I believe, but you will have to double check that). SD only service stopped being offered in 2015 so non-HD service was on the way out.
However there has been mention that some got the Genie (with Mini Genie Client for 2nd TV) as their MPEG swap, most likely because of the H25 (only non-Genie that is still available) being in short supply. The $10 DVR and $3 Whole Home DVR may be credited for the same amount of time as HD.
Either way, double check the order confirmation you receive that day to make sure all is as expected. If you see it mention it comes with a 24 month agreement then it was ordered as an upgrade, not a MPEG swap.

I am on the phone with direct tv right now. I have mentioned the MPEG swap several times and they told me that it will cost $10 a month for the HD service plus $199 one time fee for the receivers. Not sure if that was for both receivers i need or just the one. I again told them this is NOT an upgrade, that you are essentially forcing me to get new equipment and then I quoted what I was told here on the site "request their complementary MPEG swap. This is no charge and no service agreement as is a required continuing use of service."
The woman then said let me go look at some things and put me on hold. She then came back and said "okay I have a deal for you, I will give you the Genie and Mini Genie which is a $299 value but I will wave that and all you have to do is pay the 23 dollars a month for service." I said no, that is exactly what the gentleman offered me yesterday (which she knew about because she talked to me about it) I told her never mind, said I will call back closer to the time the service will end and maybe they'll have better information. I also told her that this was the worst experience I have had dealing with Direct TV and it truly has been.
So I am at a complete loss as to what to do.

$199 is the price of a DVR, HXX receivers are $99 but the swap is suppose to be free.

Yes but apparently the people I have spoken to at Direct TV do not understand this even though I have told them multiple times I am not trying to upgrade but do a swap.

Try this ....
Call DirecTV at 1 800 531 5000. Say "cancel" at the voice prompt. This will connect you with a more experienced Retention Specialist. Hopefully that person will have a clue and better understand that the MPEG2 SWAP is supposed to be FREE!!!
