Reciever randomly rebooting itself

4 times in the last 24hrs my receiver has rebooted itself while I was watching tv. Is there some kind of forced update happening?

What Receiver model number?

More likely it's dying. Be sure that the power cord is snugly attached.

Same thing happening to me on an HR24, keeps saying there is an update and to restart, and it restarts by itself, but keeps doing it every few hours, I assume the update is not successfully being applied.

Going to try forcing an update tonight and resetting.

What model box?

Any messages when it reboots?

Verify power cord is secure on both ends.

Try different outlet, power cord, etc.

Make sure you are not using a "smart" power strip.

Any other issues?

Mine is doing the same thing Im getting a pop up forced from DTV stating my receiver needs to be reset over and over and a reset is not solving the issue.

this is widely reported. looks like it is a problem with data (new logos?) being downloaded to the receiver.

We have the same thing happening too. We have roughly (30) HR25 boxes all rebooting 4-5 times a day. We just tried doing a "Clearmybox" command with no change to the software version. The current version is showing as May 4th.

ya people are calling it 'RESET GATE' wish they would just fix it already this is getting ridiculous

no need to do that. The problem is apparently being corrected by a new rollout of the "extras", not even a new release. Everyone should just be "hands off" until the problem fixes itself.

As much as I understand "the fix is coming" I also have coaches yelling at us. Need to fix this! ANY advice to even ease the problem would be most appreciated.

no advice. until directv downloads correct "extras" it will keep happening. Some people are now posting their boxes are now OK. 

See if any of your boxes are now fixed. Try rebooting a couple and see if the problem has gone away.

Yeah, my H24-200 stopped having the issue yesterday.
