Remote RC64 - TV Has White scatter when shutting down
I just set up a spare remote to replace one that quit working.
The remote new remote does operate all the Panosonic TV functions. BUT, when I shut the TV off there is a white scatter and a terrible noise just before the TV shuts off. I have tried everything I can think of to correct this with No success. Can anyone please help me?

Sounds like your DirecTV Receiver is powering off before the TV, so you're getting a brief blast of static as the TV loses its signal from your D10 Receiver. How is the D10's Video OUT connected to your Panasonic TV?

I have conected with an S Video, but found out that I also had connected with the RCA Video. I unplugged the RCA Video and that stoppped the problem. Just left the RCA audio connected to TV.
Thats for the response as I never thought about the connection to TV being the problem, just the remote.
Thanks

litzdog911, here is exactly how my D10 is connected to TV
From OUt to TV cable to Ant In on TV
Red, White & Yellow RCA out - to Red, Yellow & White to IN ON TV
Red, White & Yellow Audio/Video 2 - out to my Sony Receiver
The S Video that I mentioned previously actually goes to my DVD Player and NOT the DTV D10.
Thanks for yuor help

You should not need both of the ANTenna and RCA cables from your D10 to your TV. Just use the Red & White RCA Audio and Yellow Video connection. Disconnect the ANTenna connection. Then just use the correct TV Video INPUT for that Red/White/Yellow Video Input.
Is this audio problem happening from the TV's audio or your Sony Receiver's audio?

Thanks,
I connected the red and white RCA conections to TV, and disconnected the the ANT connection and lost the picture.
I connected the ANT and the picture returned with the Yellow RCA disconnected. I now cannot change the input with the remote yet it is connected to IMPUT 1 as it was previously.
The problem with the white scatter and noise is happening with the TV the Sony is off.
Thanks,
Bernie

I disconnected all 3 of the RCA plugs from the TV and the picture works. The sorround sound still works through the receiver. I guess because there are RCA cables friom the D10 to the Sony receiver. Still have the scatter and INPUT does not work. As the remote was used for an older DTV Receiver I do not know if INPUT button worked, the FORMAT button does not work either.
Just wanted to give you as much info as possible as it may assist you.

If you lose the Video when you disconnect the ANTENNA cable, then the TV is not set for the proper AV INPUT. What model Panasonic TV do you have? Have you checked the owner's manual to verify that you're setting the TV to the correct AV INPUT for the Yellow RCA Video connection?

Thanks for your patients, at my age technology does not come easy to me, LOL
Afriend hooked up my new TV and also connected my SD and HD DTV receivers and the Sony receiver. I have the SD so my Grandchildren DO NOT screw up my HD when they play games.
I bleieve you are correct on the INPUT being wrong, the INPUTat TOP is called TV. and is where my SD Receiver should be and has been. Then below are Component 1 & 2 and they are not used.
HDMI 1 is for my HD Receiver & TV
HDMI 2 is for my Apple TV
HDMI 3 s called Games but I never use games and there is no HDMI Plugged in it.
Video 1 is where the svideo cable is plugged in and is called DVD
Video 2 is also called Games but not used.
My TV is a46" Plasma Panosonic VIETA - Model TC-P46U1
The scatter has been like this since I had the SD hooked up, when old remote quit working and I tried an old remote I had a friend was here and heard the noise when I shut the SD receiver and TV off. He said it should not do that.
You have NO Idea how much I appreciate your help.
Video 1 is where the S Video is plugged in and goes to my DVD Player which I plan to upgrade as mine now has NO HDMI plug
The RCA pligs were plugged into the furthest right plugs which are have the Yellow, Red & White but also has the only S Video and it goes to my CD Player

Use the TV's "Video 2" INPUT for your DirecTV Receiver.

Thanks that took care of the noise shutting down the TV. Can you suggest why the remote does not control the input or format functions.
I can chnage with my HD Remote, but do not want to give it to the kids, LOL
In reading the Panosonic book I think there are other hook up errors so may try and fix them also. Do you feel thats a good idea or leave well enough alone as thye work?
Thanks so much!!!

If you've programmed the DirecTV Remote's "TV" position for your TV, then this procedure should enable you to change the TV INPUT using the remote's INPUT button ....
Activate TV INPUT button:
If the LED flashes twice after entering 9 6 0, the Input button is enabled. If it flashes four times you've turned the Input button Off and need to repeat the above step to enable it again.
