Replace a DTV dish

I have a damaged slimline 5 with a D12/100 receiver. Dish was damaged in a wind storm and needs replacement. Can I get a new slimline 5 or will I need to upgrade and if so what type/ model dish will I need?

The D12 are now obsolete as DTV is shutting down the MPEG2 feeds so you need MPEG4 receivers.  You own the dish to remove, DTV will install a new slimline dish and since there is no longer a 119 sat you don't need the 5 LNB.

The D12 is the last MPEG-2/SD-only box DirecTV made. Since they are in the process of shutting down those old feeds, being replaced with MPEG-4, you will need to replace that box.

Is that your only receiver? If not, what are the models of every box you have? That way you are prepared for what kind of replacement options you are looking at.

You need to contact DTV to swap that D12 for an MPEG4 receiver.

A equivalent swap would be an H25, but their complimentary swap program seems to be limited to a Genie at this point. Call DirecTV to verify.

If the H25 is not part of the swap program, then an optional upgrade instead would add $10 for the monthly HD service as well as a 24 month agreement. Regardless of what order placed, read the order confirmation to verify all is as expected.
