Replacement receiver not working

I just received a replacement receiver from DirectTV (model H24-700). The previous receiver (model H44-100) had stopped working. I hooked up the replacement unit exactly as the original unit. Error message: cannot detect SWM. I do not see anything that looks like a SWM. Did they send me the wrong type of receiver? Also, the manufacture date on my old one was 2015; the replacement is 2011. I find this very strange and don’t know what to do. I have contacted the online tech people. They are stumped and want to send out a technician. Is there a quicker fix for this issue?

The SWM LNB is on the dish arm.  Is the power inserter "To SWM" port connected to the dish coax and the "To IRD" connected to the H24?

Hold on, you got an H24 to replace an H44? That is very wrong. The H24 is a regular HD non-DVR. The H44 is the Genie Lite.

Never mind that a warranty replacement is same model number or newer, those aren't even the same equipment lines. Sounds like someone processed an "upgrade" as that is how you get a different line of equipment.

Check the order confirmation, but you would need to call DirecTV to fix this. Remember, any Mini Genie Clients cannot work without some sort of main Genie.

H44 does not require a swim power inserter, the H24 does. You likely need a swim power inserter.

it sounds like I need to inspect the dish on the top of my home. That may prove to be a challenge for me. The main question in my mind is: did the h44-100 require an SWM? If so, I will pursue looking on the dish itself for the elusive SWM.  If the H44-100 did NOT require an SWM, does the H24-700 require one?
Thank you in advance for your help.

Yes.  The H24 can use the SWM LNB system or the older standard LNB system, as stated it is on the end of the arm there is one or three white domes.
