REPLACING OLD DVR W/ A GENIE-WILL WE LOOSE WHAT IS CURRENTLY ON OUR DVR

WE ARE GETTING A NEW DVR B/C OURS CLICHES OUT- SO WHEN THE INSTALL A NEW ONE WILL BE LOOSE ALL OUR CURRENT STUFF STILL RECORDED AND NOT WATCHED YET

Yes, recordings will be lost as they are non-transferable between receivers. I would advise also taking a picture of the recordings you have scheduled on the old DVR as those will have to be set up on the new DVR.

Recordings are encrypted to the exact DVR so would be lost. Another reason why HDDVRs are preferred over Mini Genie Clients so you don't have all eggs in one basket.
