DTV doesn't send labels, you need to call them for a return box to take to the post office. If they are an HR44 or C41 or lower DTV doesn't want them back so they should be taken to an Ewaste center.

What model is this "old" equipment?
When you deactivate a box (or cancel the entire account) you take any returnable models to a participating FedEx/The UPS Store location.
If you are not within 10 miles of one, or if the owner after splitting from AT&T returns to the old process, you call DirecTV to send you a return kit. This goes to the physical service address by FedEx that you send back by USPS.
But if not returnable, then you recycle the old equipment. Only receiver/client boxes are still owned by DirecTV. Everything else (dish, cabling, etc.) are owned accessories and up to you to remove if you choose.

There are posts here that stated that UPS and FedEx are no longer taking DTV receivers.
