Take your box to any UPS location and they will create a label and give you a tracking number.

Provided they are still returnable UPS/FedEx stores(not pick up locations) will scan the receivers into the system and give you a receipt and they bulk ship them back to DTV. If you are over 10 miles from one then you have to get another return kit from DTV to take them to the post office as they never send just a label.

I have had exactly the same problem, I was sent a box without any label or instructions about how to obtain a label. When I called customer support, I learned that they omit the label when you live too far from a UPS store. That is not terribly intelligent of DirecTV, but maybe it makes sense to them. I requested that the label be sent, but they are instead sending another box with FedEx. If this one is empty too, I will be done, and throw out the electronics I would have returned.

New process is taking boxes to a participating FedEx or The UPS Store. Just need the receiver/clients and account number. Free return, but make sure to keep receipt showing they took possession. May not be a tracking number as this is a bulk return.
If over 10 miles away from a shipping center is when they use the old process. Return kit to you by FedEx, take it to USPS (not UPS) for return. Label is sometimes under the original shipping label depending on how it was setup.
What are the models of each box you have? Just to be sure if you return or recycle.

Hi Juniper,
Thank you for your genuinely helpful answer! I have a USPS shipping label underneath the original shipping label, cleverly hidden. To reveal it, you need to peel off a green strip that reads "Tear Here For Packing Slip" and then tear carefully down both sides of the FedEx shipping label, and then a USPS/Smartpost return label address with various barcodes, to Memphis TN is revealed. DirecTV really ought to include some explanation inside the box, describing how this works, AND DirecTV really ought to tell their support staff about this clever trick, in which the customer is supposed to figure out that "packing slip" means shipping label. I interacted with quite a few people on the phone, and for a couple of hours yesterday on Facebook chat, and none of them knew about this. I am guessing you know about this because you are not a DirecTV employee, and are smarter than average.
Thanks Very much!
Susanna
