Returned Equipment to DirecTV

Can anyone tell me the department that receives equipment for Directv ? 

This equipment was sent by UPS near Las Vegas, NV.  What department at Directv gets this?

I need this information because when they received my equipment, they entered that date as my

cancellation date (10 days after my equipment was shipped, and 8 days after the last day of

my billing cycle)  Because they entered this incorrect date, this caused another bill for

another month to generate for $169 which I should not owe.  No one at AT&T can help me

find out who entered that date.  I have decided to try and figure this out myself.

They are send to the refurbishing division and I doubt there is anyway to contact them.  Your problem is the CSR that didn't cancel you account before you sent them back.

When the account is canceled it goes through at the end of your current service month, regardless when in the service month you called. For the account canceling upon return of the equipment is odd. The only way I could see that happening is if the agent didn't process your cancellation, so when the boxes were logged in and confirmed to be every single one they counted that as the cancellation request.

 

So you will need to call DirecTV and when you get the voice system say "cancel" to route you directly to their retention/cancellation department. Just confirm with the agent the last call was requesting cancellation. This should be rather easy for the agent to verify and to credit the following month as a billing error. After all realistically who would send in their boxes without notifying DirecTV and hope that closed the account?

I appreciate your response.  I filed a formal complaint with the FCC yesterday and I am hoping they can get this corrected for me.  I have spent over 10 hours, multiple calls and chats, and multiple emails back and forth but no one seems to be able to find out who put that date into the computer!  I have even had them tell me that they see I called them to cancel on April 9, and then they still say I didn't cancel until April 27.  So thank you for your time.
