Returning customer after 10 years - what dish and DVR will I get?

Zip code 53590.

Hello - as the subject implies - I will be returning to DTV after a 10 year hiatus.

I have an idea of where I would like to have the dish mounted - but I would like to know which dish to expect?  Will it be the SL3 Slimline?  If so, my desired mounting location is the best shot through trees per Dishpointer.

Also, I will be going with a standard non-genie HD DVR receiver.   What are they providing lately - HR24's - or - something different?

Thanks!

You will get a 3LNB SWM slimline dish AKA SL3 and an HS17Genie2 client only system.  The tech will decide the best place to put the dish and it will not be aiming between trees or branches.

Unfortunately non-Genie DVRs haven't been made in years. Any left in stock are only used for warranty replacements for those that already have one.

Most likely you'll get the Genie-2 (HS17) with a Mini Genie Client (probably C61) on each TV. Not impossible to have the option of the regular Genie (latest model HR54), but DirecTV was heavily pushed into a Client-only setup. From experience, AT&T prefers all-in-one setups instead of customer flexible ones.

As AT&T has passed management to the new co-owner, I do hope regular HDDVRs return in the future. But I'm not holding my breath.
