RV use
I have the Genie-2 HS17 in my home. I want to have RV service in my RV but I would need to use the H24 receivers in the RV. Is this possible?

No, the HS17 account forbids all other DTV receivers except clients. With a SWM dish on a sled or tripod mount or a self aiming dish mounted on the RV roof you can use the HS17 and a mini in the RV.

To further clarify, it is a restriction at the service level. If you have the Genie-2 (HS17), DirecTV has it built into their account system to forbid any receivers/HDDVRs. This is the only model that has that restriction, though DirecTV stopped making regular boxes so even the regular Genie line is forced into client-only setups unless you go through Authorized Retailers (3rd party).
I really want DirecTV to return to dedicated boxes. Both to support RV/camper users, but also those of us who don't want an all-eggs-in-one-basket setup.

@RVuser213M
your other work around is set up a Another D*TV Account just for your RV -One receiver -The other option is to replace your hS-17 with a HR54 then you can add a H24 -Either way it an Added cost if you only use your RV for 6 months -you can suspend your (NEW) D*TV RV account for 6 months -then reactivate it when you ready to rol.
