Service on installation
Today I had a time for an install for my mother home. I’ve been with direct for 23yrs. Arrived to the home at 8am. Received text message reminding of the appointment and called after arrival and found out that due to staffing my appointment had been cancelled and rescheduled for another time. Now I’m heated. I expressed my concerns and if they don’t show or change or cancel anything with my appointment or without my approval then all services will be cancelled an I will be dropping them all together.

We appreciate your loyalty during these years and apologize for the inconvenience that could have caused the rescheduling of your appointment. We will send you a PM to check the status of your technical installation and do a follow-up. Gabriel, DIRECTV Community Specialist

They are short staffed on techs. Been a problem since the pandemic. As such nobody is immune to an unfortunate reschedule.
My expectation is they grab the next slot available until you can speak with DirecTV if you need to choose a later slot that works better for you.

They reach out and tech showed up and I had to cancel the order due to tree blocking the signal path per tech. I changed my package as well because they no longer offer the nfl Sunday ticket. If they drop or change anything else I’m dropping all together. I’ve been a customer for 23yrs. I’m not a fan of reviews because people feeling and emotions play a part
somethings just need to left alone

Tree blocking signal is a hard stop. Especially since the MPEG-4/HD capable feed requires a tighter signal than the older MPEG-2/SD-only.
NFL Sunday Ticket has nothing to do with your package outside the season dates. During the season, it gave you the NFL Network if you were below Choice. Other than that, the Sunday Ticket had no interaction with the base package itself.
It was not DirecTV's choice to go without Sunday Ticket. The NFL decided that YouTube's streaming option was better. This is a problem for those who don't get good enough internet (or internet at all) to rely on streaming-only (such as rural customers). Many are pushing for streaming services, but the national infrastructure (who/where it reaches, reliability, and base bandwidth) is not there so I feel some are putting the cart before the horse.
Any review take with a grain of salt. Yes emotion plays a part, so it is up to the reader to pick out the important bits out of the fluff and understand some things may be stretched. But if there were no reviews then any choice would be pure guesswork as you have nothing to go by at all.
