Service Tech severely damaged my lawn?
Who do I contact about the damage to my yard? In lieu of reading Direct TV's policy fine print ..... can some one tell me if I can get quotes from a licensed landscape company? Or am I at the will of Direct TV to send out another ignorant employee to fix my yard as well as their service department 'didn't' fix my equipment yesterday?
Before even letting me know he had arrived, the tech pulled down my driveway and drove off the pavement to cross my "very very" wet yard. When his tires almost sunk up to the axles he spun his tires until he got back on the pavement. Now I have a sod grass yard with 8' long 10" deep ditches of mud in my yard.
When I came out he was trying to fill them back in with his feet? Making even a bigger mess.
When I originally phoned for the service call I "explicitly" explained that access to my dish was a special condition and that I wanted the tech service to call before coming. I could then let them know it would require two tech's and a very long ladder. They never called and, of course, after he ditched my yard, he said he did not have the proper equipment to access the dish.
It appears that "Tina" from "India" did not include my instructions in the work order?
Thanks,
Dan
PS: Can someone tell me why Direct TV customer service rep's have American name aliases?? Is that to think they are fooling us in some way? FYI alert! Tell the bubble gum chewing broken glasses nerd in 'digital land' customer relations that we're not that stupid. We know you're taking American job's and sending them to impoverish slave labor rate countries. You can drop the facade and go buy another yacht with that profit.

You should check into having a new dish placed on a pole mount AFAIK only supervisors have longer ladders.

I don't think you've picked up on my opinion of your phone services?
I called Direct TV when the first tech drove away. They sent another tech out who also said he didn't have the proper equipment or an assistant. And he had no answer for me on repairing my yard.
I've heard nothing from Direct TV since that call to report the damage. And with something as serious as property damage I would think someone from Direct TV would have called 'me' by now. The reason I came here was to answer a simple question. You avoided answering it.
I'm not calling or messaging Direct TV anymore:
1. Difficulty in holding a viable conversation because poor English diction requires asking the rep to repeat almost everything.
2. Rep's asking me to hold for long periods while they review their pre-printed answer screen, or transfer me to another department.
3. Along with all the calls I've been making, your inconvenient 4 hour window of tech arrival time, no call telling me they are on the way, ill prepared service technicians, and in general, an overall time consuming inconvenience to me of 8 hours at this point in the process.
Direct TV is very bad at service and very good at overcharging for a product with poor service. I'm not chasing Direct TV for a resolution. It's your problem. They have my number and I'm not waiting to have my yard fixed. And we're changing to 'stream tv' this week.

This is a customer to customer forum, DTV and their insurance company are the only ones that can fix it.

Some of those reps that is their actual name. They have call centers accross the country and as call center work is not the most enjoyable line of work, they get who they can. Yes there is outsourcing, but there is also people who have moved to this country (or only a generation or two in) and keep their accents. A lot of companies allow a "Americanized" nickname as their given name is too hard to pronounce, or just want to avoid predicjuce from the "grr Murica, rabble rabble" people.
Two techs and a very long ladder required? I don't know how special your setup is, but so you are aware, techs will only service the dish if it is reachable from the ladder itself. This is to comply with updated OSHA regulations. If your dish doesn't meet the current requirements, they would have to install a new dish in an approved location.
As for your lawn, you follow the property damage claim process which is processed by Sedgwick. But you have to call to start the process.
Property Damage Claims
If you are not going to call or message DirecTV (not Direct TV) anymore, whether to follow up on the claim or submit it in the first place (if wasn't done by the prior agent) then you accept the situation as it stands. If a claim was filed, you would have been given a claim number.
This is a public forum of other customers. The official "help team" doesn't replace filing the damage claim. They are supplemental to customer support, mainly to give more official guidance but don't have access to all the options.
As a note since your issue deals with your lawn (yard).
