Still no tv 13 days
Still waiting to hear from direct tv as to when they are coming to install the new HD dish. They sent me the new Genie last Friday. Still have a SD dish 13 days and counting till I switch to Dish tv.
going to loose a 32 year customer.
I guess that don’t mean much to at&t. Have been with them since it was RCA. 1990.

Something is wrong with the order as DTV rarely ships a receiver for the MPEG2 swap as they know there has to be a tech needed to install the dish and replace the wiring if needed so call them.

I have been on the phone with them since June 11th. Still waiting to hear from them. Today is the day I drop my service if I don’t hear back from anyone . Then I will contact the corporate offices in Dallas Texas.

If you have MPEG-2/SD-only equipment and dish, but agent drop shipped equipment, then the order is wrong. Tech brings all required equipment, they don't do it separate. So system in error allowed it to drop ship instead of defaulting to tech install and agent did not correct it.
You do not hear back from them as they generally do not do callbacks. Millions of customers plus they are short staffed right now. Either call DirecTV and when you get the voice system say "cancel" so you get a retention specialist (usually more experienced than front line agents), or submit a FCC/BBB complaint that goes to corporate (which I would consider doing anyway because this is a long standing issue that occasionally happened even before acquisition by AT&T).

Thanks for everyone’s help. I think I finally talked to someone today that spoke English and they are coming tomorrow to install the new HD dish. Appointment is confirmed.
