Recordings are encrypted to their DVR and not permitted to be transferred. So it is not allowed by design. You don't own the recordings.
Alternatively you could record the old fashion way by having a VCR or recordable DVD player connected to your TV. Provided it is not connected by HDMI or the network's required HDCP would prevent it.

You don’t. Recordings can’t be transferred or copied, they are encrypted to whatever device they are recorded on.
