Two Dishes Installed. Can DirectTV use pole/mount plates?
I haven't been super thrilled with Dish as I am a football fan. I have a Dish Network dish on the side of my house and a extremely old direct tv dish on the roof. Would the tech be able to install using the mounting equipment in place? Also, will the tech take off the old dish to put the new one up since its already installed? Thanks in advance!

Normally tech will install all new, but you can certainly ask them on site if the existing mounting can be used. The mount must be compatible, in good condition, and in a place that gets good line of sight for DirecTV's current feeds. Also with updated OSHA regulations, the location must be reachable from the ladder. Techs may no longer go on the roof itself.
If you do place the order, make sure to read the order confirmation throuroughly well before your install. Don't want any surprises from a misunderstanding or agent error (honest or on purpose).
Since you mention that you are a football fan, I take it you are looking into the NFL Sunday Ticket. Yes it is normally free for the 1st season as part of the intro offer (which you might get if it has been years since you had DirecTV as it sounds like). It does work on an auto renew. You have the renewal notice in June with the 1st of 6 installments in July, with having until the start of season to opt out before you are locked in to that season.

Old DTV round dishes used 1 7/8" OD poles the new SWM dish uses 2" OD poles. You own the dishes to remove.
