Unable to delete shows after viewing
I have been with DirecTV for over 25 years when it was fairly new. But lately, I am having the same issue with deleting shows completely after viewing them. I have a wireless Genie in our master and the DVR in the living room. Now the message I get is that the show can not be deleted because someone in the living room is still watching. But that is where it was deleted or attempted to delete from what is the solution to this issue. thank God We haven't been under contract for decades. We are looking at alternatives to satellite TV. Not Cable

Resetting your main Genie DVR should fix this. Red button near the access card.

So did you want help fixing the issue or just wanted to tell others you were looking at other TV Providers? If the latter, call DirecTV as this is a public forum of other customers. But if you do want help, then a couple suggestions that may get it running correctly again.
Verify coax is finger tight. Then do a red button reset (one at a time): Genie > WVB > Wireless Mini Genie Client. That should clear the conflict returning you back to normal operations.
If needed you can also unplug power for a minute or so. Same order as a regular reset. This clears residual memory, so can be effective for issues that seem to stick. It does dump the guide data, but that downloads from the satellite which is usually finished within 24 hours.
Hoping that main Genie is not the 1st generation (HR34). Otherwise I would prepare to warranty replace it at some point. Known for system slowness and overheating.
